The Iron Age
The "Iron Age" is a series of three teapots exploring the possibilities of using an Anagama wood-fire kiln to create prominently unglazed work. This is done by using different clay bodies that are watered down into "slips" to create a faux coloring of what the original clay would be. The designs of the teapot were inspired by my curiosity of how each surface texture would react with the slip and the directional heat of the wood fire-kiln. The full spherical shape giving each texture and clay/slip pairing a chance to react.
