Sketching
I choose to investigate the french press because the design has stagnated for over a decade. The new design is form follows experience, creating a desired coffee brewing experience.

Working it out
Using foam sculpting, I began incorporating traditional japanese ceremony to a french press brewing process.
Holding an object or bringing it to your lips to drink can be an intimate experience.
Rendering Process
I moved back and forth between sketching and rendering to create a precise and free form without costly CAD errors.
Design
Design
Cuppa revolves around the idea of enjoying the sensations of brewing coffee. Scent, touch, sight, sound, and taste.
User Path Storyboard
Remove top and add hot water with medium fine coffee grounds.
Twist to lock on lid.
Wait desired steeping time, then stir to stop steeping process.
Inner system is fully connected and ready to pour the perfect french press.
Attach lid by placing top onto
bottom pole connector.
Pour coffee and enjoy.
