To create a multifaceted additional outdoor space for athletes and explorers living on the road. I found pushing modularity to the extreme created maximum adjustability for the best ergonomics.

 
Three adjustable forms, one product.

Working it out 

Using foam and polystyrene modeling for quick adaptations and tweaks. I was able to find a solution that would work with all three spatial forms for a range of user heights.

Final Considerations

I was also drawn to the possibility of using this project outside of camping; revamping it for those who have been forcibly displaced. I hope to revisit this project as a sustainable relief tool.

The Final concept is a double sided chair with three main modalities:
  • Flat bedding comfort cot  (in or out of car usable)
  • Kneeling work desk with ergonomic posturing
  • Post-sport recovery recliner

Dimensions

Adaptable from child to large adult in size, and it still fits in the back of an SUV.

Features

Both cushioned sides are filled with foam inners that self-inflate the air-tight cushions when vents are opened. This also allows for personal cushion adjustment and deflation for packability.
