Luminosity is an interdisciplinary research and development lab driven by a hand-selected team of exemplary students from Arizona State University.

We design, build, and deploy novel solutions to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. I am involved with the following current projects:

NASA’s 2022 Breakthrough, Innovative, and Game-Changing (BIG) Idea Challenge is an engineering design competition. The BIG Idea Challenge supports NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate’s (STMD’s) Game Changing Development Program’s (GCD’s) efforts to rapidly develop innovation, producing high-impact technologies for infusion in a broad array of future missions.

Our design, Charlotte, is being developed to tackle the challenges of non-wheeled rovers and accessing lunar craters.

Spark is a multi-year project that evolved from an ASU-partnered lab looking into cutting edge electrical generation technology. Capable of generating 3x the wattage compared to similar devices in the market, Spark is a cooking and power generation device for outdoor, military, or highly mobile populations. It has gone from the workbench to testing, design, engineering. The project is now preparing for the jump to market.

The Luminosity Lab and the Phoenix Children's Hospital have a longstanding collaboration.

Currently, our team is developing a new, more efficient EKG cart. The new carts are expected to be launched by the end of the year.

Mummy Mountain is a prominent geological feature in Central Phoenix, located in the heart of Paradise Valley village. Years of erosion caused by development has resulted in unstable slopes and unsightly weathered rock.

The Paradise Valley community trust commissioned a research report and ranking of possible solutions to improve conditions on Mummy Mountain. We are working in collaboration with local desert biologists and geologists to develop a conservation plan that will result in long-term improvement of the landscape.
